This store is definitely Nelsons most exciting and diverse outdoor adventure store. It is also unique in that it offers a full ski, snowboard and bike workshop.The store stocks wetsuits, surf boards, bodyboards, water skis and wakeboards, packs and sleeping bags, bikes, outdoor footwear, boots and sandals, snowboards, skis, snow and surf clothing and kayaks.
The store stocks leading national and international brands – Icebreaker, Giant, Trek, GT, Marmot, Mountain Equipment, Northface, Mountain Hardware, Columbia, Rossignol, Burton, Salomon, Volkl, K2, Quiksilver, Roxy, Oneill, Ripcurl, Osprey, Vaude, Deuter, Coleman, Freedom, Merrell, Meindl, Mountain Equipment, Teva, HO, Hyperlite, Connelly, CWB, Liquidforce, and so much more.
Our bike department specialises in providing excellence in service for everyone from the recreational rider to the serious downhiller or road racer. We have a full cycle workshop that is well reknowned for its repair quality and pricing. Our staff also ride bikes and we use their experience, paired with ‘Dialled in Motion’ technology to ensure we get the correct bike fit for you. We stock mountainbikes, roadbikes, kids bikes, BMX, Commuting and serious downhill bikes.
On the camping side we also have the largest number of tents on permanent display in Nelson (20+). This gives you the opportunity to truly compare the internal useable sizes of the tents and make an informed choice. Canvas, Dome and Adventure tents and all the accessories you will need from furniture and cookers to headlamps.
We haven't forgotten our second-hand roots and we still buy as much as we can in second-hand tents, snowboards, skis, bikes, camp gear etc. High demand for this product means that it's often a case of being lucky and catching the right product on the right day. Staff Profiles
Alina
Alina began working at R&R sport in 2005 in the Christchurch tramp store. She has now worked in 5 of our stores around the country and is currently the manager of the Nelson store.
David
Dave is a roadie at heart but has decided to try his hand at multisport. He is often seen out paddling, running or biking in his matching lycra. Dave has his sights set on competing in the one day event at his first coast to coast next year.
Ellen
Ellen is currently studying adventure tourism. When not working or studying she can be found tramping, kayaking or biking round the Nelson region.
Giles
Giles is a former top downhill mounatin biking guru who after one too many crashes decided to live the quieter life and now runs our bike and snow workshops.
Shona
Shona is an avid mounatin biker and skiier and has been known to be seen floating down the flooded Maitai river on an inflatable turtle.
She is currently studing nursing which comes in handy on our thursday night rides.

Steve
Steve moved to NZ from the UK. He quickly sussed out the bike scene in Nelson and his favourite MTB track is Wiggles. Steve worked as a Vet nurse in the UK, but saw the light and followed his passion- bikes, bikes and bikes.
Sue
Sue is our office lady/jack of all trades. She is a passionate road cyclist, who enjoys long walks on the beach with her dog/horse Rufus.
Wil
Wil has just joined the team in from Melbourne, where he managed a Bike store. He is a keen mountain biker, and is keen to try out lots of different activities while he is in Nelson. His current ambition is to pull a wheelie on his 29er.
